The Hobbit production video

Further proof that Jackson is the lord of Hollywood

If you thought the age of modern cinema was ruled by green screens and comic book adaptations, think again. Lord of The Rings, like Braveheart before it, proved that proper location scouting is not a dead art, especially when you have the ragged panoramas of New Zealand on your doorstep. So, it's no surprise that Peter Jackson is pulling out all the stops to bring to life The Hobbit in the truest possible way, as this behind the scenes video shows. You'll spot the mountains, the intricate sets and the five (FIVE) helicopters he sends out to scout the surrounding vistas for that perfect shot. Would you expect anything less?

We're not sure about you lot, but 'wet the bed excited' doesn't really cover the anticipation we have for Jackson's latest. We'd have to ask JRR himself for a suitable metaphor.
